Opening doors to a

Tri-Schools Apprenticeship Branding Challenge

In December 2015 Great Torrington School received EiSG (Enterprise in schools grants) funding from DCC for Great Torrington School, Chulmleigh Academy and Braunton Academy to undertake the Tri-schools apprenticeship branding challenge.

The challenge was designed to inspire young people to pursue apprenticeships and broaden their understanding of apprenticeships in North Devon. The pupils from the three schools visited one of three local apprenticeship providers; RHS Rosemoor, Greenfield Engineering and Beran Instruments, spending a day with them learning about their company, speaking to their existing apprentices and designing a short promotional video.

A combination of the videos produced from each day are below and will be shown in the three schools to promote apprenticeships at the three companies.

o Introduction to the apprenticeship pathways offered.

o Met the current apprentices and those staff that work directly with them.

o In school teams pupils made a short video clip. These were then presented to the staff from the apprenticeship providers to choose a best advert.

o Pupils have gone back to their schools and delivered an assembly regarding the apprenticeships available at these companies.

Who has benefitted?
